Our aim at Earth Haus is to showcase Australian made building materials that provide both immediate and long- lasting environmental benefits for our customers. At Earth Haus we are committed to supporting the environment the best way we can, and hope that each step we take leads us to work towards an improved future. Why brick? Why not brick?
Energy Efficient Buildings
In conjunction with intelligent, passive building design elements, bricks can moderate building temperatures and reduce energy consumption.
Low maintenance
Brick is used untreated and is maintenance- free. No need to paint or use other treatments to maintain their aesthetics and durability.
Energy efficient in manufacturing
We engage the least amount of environmental impact during the raw material and production phase and firing. Over the past thirty years the manufacture of bricks has improved dramatically. Plants have been re-engineered to make use of highly efficient tunnel kilns, natural gas, and recycling all waste within the plant. Ongoing innovation in manufacturing processes means the energy required to make clay bricks is reduced every year.
Indoor environmental quality
Brick has a beneficial effect on the indoor climate as brickwork does not emit gases, smells or other toxins. It also absorbs sounds and vibrations, regulates heat, diffuses water and does not provide nourishment for organisms, lessening the development of mould.
Concrete bricks
This range of bricks are Global Green Tag certified and are manufactured with 36.5% recycled glass aggregate, which is a by-product derived from recycled glass container bottles. The use of recycled glass in products results in reduction of cement and mined sand usage, and further reduces CO2 emissions. It also provides a significant reduction in the total amount of mixed glass waste being sent to landfill.
Top Benefits:
- Post-Consumer Recycled Content
- Durability
- Locally manufactured
- Modern natural curing methods which reduce energy consumption are implemented
- 100% captured water is used and CO2 emissions are reduced
- All bricks are colour fast. The colour is blended throughout the brick i.e. not a surface coating that can chip off.
Dry Pressed Bricks
Our dry pressed range are environmentally sustainable wood-fired bricks. They are made in Australia in wood-fired ovens using 100% waste fuel, they do not use natural gas or LPG. The largest proportion of the fuel source comes from sawmill waste, the remaining component comes from waste oil (from local garages and local takeaway stores). Communities are being helped to dispose of wood and oil waste in a highly productive, environmentally friendly way. This means that the brickmaking factory makes close to a zero contribution to greenhouse gases and continually works hard to improve the environmental performance of the brickyard.
Extruded (Wire cut) Bricks
Our extruded range are fired in traditionally designed smaller kilns which are fired by recycled oil products. Any waste products are crushed, recycled and reused, which reduces the need for fresh raw materials.
